Miguel Blanco Bio

 

Miguel Blanco a multi-instrumentalist who plays electric bass, electric guitar, and piano. Born in Gràcia, Barcelona, and now living in Madrid in Madrid. Miguel graduated with a degree in composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1992. His music crosses various genres, including jazz, Afro-Cuban, funk, flamenco, and pop, with a focus on blending tradition and freedom. He has collaborated with artists like Jerry González, Omara Portuondo, and Charly García, and my work has been featured by big bands and orchestras globally.

He has composed over 600 works for different formats and created projects like La Calle Caliente and the Afrodisian Orchestra. His style draws from many influences, particularly African American music, classical, and pop. Since 2004, Miguel has been teaching Jazz Arranging and Harmony at Musikene and conducted master classes in cities worldwide. His philosophy as a musician and teacher emphasizes expressing your unique identity through music, balancing technique with personal emotion.
