Oscar Hernández Bio
Oscar Hernández is a well-known pianist and arranger in Latin, Latin-jazz, and salsa music with over 40 years of experience. He leads the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, which has released seven CDs and received multiple Grammy nominations, including their latest album, “Salsa Navidad,” a Christmas album that has been well received.
Hernández began his career in the 1970s, collaborating with artists like Ismael Miranda and Celia Cruz, and was part of Rubén Blades’ band. He has also been a musical director for the Broadway show “The Capeman,” composed music for documentaries, and worked as a session player. He released two solo albums and arranged for Gloria Estefan’s show “On Your Feet. “
