Hans Halt Bio
Hans Halt is a jazz bassist, educator, composer, and arranger with over 30 years of experience. He teaches Bass and Jazz Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, specializing in areas such as jazz composition, improvisation, and history.
He began his career in Buffalo, later performing in the San Francisco Bay Area with notable musicians before settling in Reno in 1985. There, he has performed with groups including the Reno Philharmonic, Reno Jazz Orchestra, The Collective, and No Comprende.
Hans has collaborated with prominent jazz artists such as Peter Erskine, Bobby Hutcherson, and Ravi Coltrane, and is an active clinician who presents master classes and performances at major festivals and institutions.
